SaMASZ set goal: “Number 1 mower in NZ”
Our visit to SaMASZ headquarters in Poland recently saw the management teams flesh out how this promise will come to light.
To be the number one specialist in the hay mower market, our qualified technicians recently trained on the floor at SaMASZ in Poland. A nationwide roll-out of service agents is underway (supported by a dedicated 0800 SAMASZ helpline), and when our customers commit to an annual servicing programme, warranties will increase from two to three years.
SaMASZ is celebrating 40 successful years in business and New Zealand has been identified as one of their Top 5 countries for growth. This is excellent news for farmers and contractors looking at a sharp price on a mower for the 2025 season.
SaMASZ Regional Export Director, Lukasz Lapinski adds, “our commitment to NZ market is indeed strong. We have identified it as Top 5 for growth. Apart from being a market with big sales potential, it is also an important location when it comes to modifications of our machines. Based on feedback from New Zealand, we have introduced for example new spring holder pins and modified the shape and mounting of conditioners’ tines. We are more than open to innovations coming from this challenging market.”
Achieving number 1 on the NZ market will require a high performing machine. With a presence in more than 70 countries (including the largest exporter into France) and more than 160,000 mowers produced since its inception in 1984, SaMASZ are leaders on the international stage. But while the brand is now becoming familiar in NZ, many farmers and contractors are still new to its performance and aftersales promise.
As part of their commitment to customers Down Under, SaMASZ has designed customised mowers to suit local conditions. For example, built for large farms and a serious performer, the SaMASZ GigaCut Grouper Mower boasts a robust frame, conditioners, stone-proof knife holders, replaceable stone protectors, and the development of thicker 25mm spur gears with a bevelled edge (which means less maintenance costs as there are no sharp edges to catch or break).
Available with either tine or roller conditioners, and with easy adjustment to the belt speed of the groupers, they are the perfect option to increase productivity and eliminate the need of a tedder and rake.
Another reason the mowers are respected is because SaMASZ can boast one of the fastest blade tip speed of 3200rpm, which is an important factor in mower performance as it provides a cleaner and faster cut.
The GigaCut Controller on their hydro-pneumatic models is very simple to use – with only one set of hydraulic hoses needed, everything can then be easily controlled from the monitor inside the tractor cab. Along with providing excellent contour following, the PerfectCUT Cutter Bar is wider than a lot of common mowers and is excellent for straddling the pivot irrigation ruts. These Cutter Bars also have a quick knife replacement system, getting you back on the job quicker.
Hydraulic safety breakaway device protects the mower against hitting immovable obstacles. If hit, the Cutter Bar folds back and rises about 50cm, then automatically returns to its working position once the obstacle is passed.
And with diesel prices like they are SaMASZ mowers can help out here too. Due to their main driveline being geared down, less power requirements are needed compared with some other options, and less diesel is needed to get the job done.
The establishment of SaMASZ Dealers-Service Agents has already commenced including four in the North Island (FarmShop for Northland, R&R Tractors for Bay of Plenty, MECH Agriculture for Manawatu, Agtec Machinery for Wairapa, and two in the South Island - All Farm Engineering in Canterbury, and Ag & Auto for Otago. Several additional dealers are in the pipeline with a goal to saturate the country.
Meanwhile, FarmShop is rolling out sharp indent prices for delivery next season. Those who act quickly will be the first to own a SaMASZ mower in the striking new colourway.
